This one had a lot of moving pieces - and that's exactly the kind of job we enjoy. The homeowner wanted their outdoor space to actually work for them. Not just look good from the window, but function as a place to spend time. So we mapped out a plan that covered the whole property, front to back.
Out back, we built a circular paver patio centered around a natural stone fire pit. That became the anchor point for the whole yard. From there, we installed a flagstone stepping path connecting the lower under-deck patio - which got its own full paver install with a clean soldier-course border. The space under the deck was basically unused before. Now it's a legit outdoor room with direct walk-out access from the basement.
The natural stone retaining wall and stacked steps running up toward the fire pit area were some of the more labor-intensive pieces of this job. Moving and setting boulders of that size takes the right equipment and a good eye for how they'll sit long-term. We used the existing grade to our advantage rather than fighting it, which gave the whole layout a feel that fits the wooded lot naturally.
Up front, we tied it all together with a paver apron leading right up to the entryway. Same paver style as the back so everything reads as one cohesive design. It's a small detail that makes a big difference - the front of the house now actually feels like an entrance worth walking up to.
When a job covers this much ground - fire pit patio, under-deck patio, stone steps, pathways, fresh plantings, and a front entryway - it requires real coordination from start to finish. That's what full service landscaping means to us. Every piece connects to the next, and nothing feels like an afterthought.
